Animas Identifies Software Problem that Affects OneTouch Ping Pump’s Time/Date Settings
On March 6, Animas announced that it had identified a problem with the software on its OneTouch Ping insulin pumps. If patients attempted to change the time and/or date settings on February 29, 2012, the software may not have recognized the change because of the leap year. If you use an Animas OneTouch Ping, you should make sure that the time and date on your pump are correct – if they are, no further action is required. If the time and/or date are incorrect, you should make the appropriate correction through the pump’s ‘Setup’ menu. Once changed, the pump will perform as intended and no additional measures need to be taken.
