Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD) Comes to Omaha and San Diego
On October 12, the Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD) conference and health fair will be held in Omaha, NE at the Omaha Convention Center. The one-day conference will feature both type 1 and type 2 diabetes tracks, inspiring speakers (many have diabetes themselves), workshops, group sessions, group workouts, complimentary film screenings, and one-on-one conversations with diabetes specialists.
If you're in the Southern California region, there will be a TCOYD conference on Saturday, November 23 at the San Diego Convention Center. Our very own Editor-in-Chief Kelly Close will be on a panel discussing progress toward treating type 1 diabetes, and our Co-Managing Editor Adam Brown will discuss mobile apps for health. Conference sessions will address a broad array of topics, including grocery shopping, cooking, sleep, and tips on how to support friends or family members with diabetes. There will also be an opportunity to meet three people who have gone through "extreme diabetes makeovers.” Professional chef and “The Happy Diabetic” Robert Lewis will be a featured speaker and hold a workshop on “Grocery Shopping and Healthy Cooking Tips.”
