John Carr
John G. Carr, M.D., is a freelance medical writer and aspiring novelist with more than 15 years of experience treating diabetes and its complications and brings a range of experience in peer-reviewed scientific investigation; from benchtop to bedside. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in biology and a focus in neuroscience. After spending a year at the C.S.I.C. in Madrid, Spain to continue undergraduate research in neurodevelopment, he attended Yale University School of Medicine where his focus shifted to cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Carr received a Young Investigator Award from the International Congress of Nuclear
Cardiology before returning to Boston, to complete his postdoctoral training in medicine, a chief residency, cardiovascular medicine, and cardiac electrophysiology at Boston University Medical Center, holding a dual appointment as a heart rhythm specialist and Associate Professor of Medicine at BU Medical School. His areas of interest include health, longevity, and fitness.
